The I Ching, or Book of Changes, is one of the oldest Chinese classical texts. Dating back over 3,000 years, it serves as both a divination system and a book of wisdom.
How It Works
The I Ching uses 64 hexagrams, each composed of six lines that are either broken (yin) or unbroken (yang). These hexagrams represent different life situations and cosmic principles.
The Consultation Process
Traditionally, three coins are thrown six times to build a hexagram from bottom to top. Each throw determines whether a line is yin or yang, creating a unique pattern that corresponds to specific guidance.
Philosophy
The I Ching teaches that change is the only constant in the universe. By understanding the patterns of change, we can better navigate life's challenges and opportunities.
